About

Sam Nasar is a composer, orchestrator, music producer, music director, and pianist for theatre and screen. His musical album Sam & The Company—recorded with a Broadway all‑star cast and a Grammy Award–winning studio team—has been featured in BroadwayWorld, Playbill, Digital Journal, and more. BroadwayWorld called the work “a wide variety of styles from golden age … to sweeping mega‑musical ballads,” highlighting Nasar’s range and stylistic agility (broadwayworld.com).

Nasar is the composer–lyricist behind a growing slate of new musicals: The Chef (with Broadway producer Alexander Robertson), Unknown World, Dear Adeline, Still Connected, film-to-stage adaptations, and more. He is also currently composing the score for the NYC revival of Dog Sees God.

In 2025, Nasar made it his mission to get as much original theatrical music out into the world as possible—while continuing to build and shape his long-term creative projects.

A graduate of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and current member of its Advanced Workshop, Nasar blends symphonic mega-musical scoring with modern theatrical pop—shifting fluidly across genres to establish himself as a true musical chameleon.

As a music director, pianist, composer, and orchestrator, he regularly works across New York City at venues including 54 Below, The Green Room 42, Ivy Room, Coby Club, and more—known for his calm presence, sharp instincts, and collaborative approach. He’s also a trusted assistant and flexible member of music teams at all levels of development.

Nasar’s orchestration work includes a featured concert at Disney Concert Hall, where he collaborated with Brazilian composer Rodrigo Amarante (Narcos) to transform synth-focused compositions into acoustic arrangements fitting the venue’s renowned space.

Based in NYC, Nasar is always looking to bring his cool, calm, and efficient creative energy to new teams and collaborators. To discuss your project or commission work, please get in touch via the contact page.
